Painting guide written by Klaus Teschner

Stage 1

Prime your bases with Skull White spray.  This will allow your next colours to be more brighter than if you used a black primer.  I don't need to show you a pic of this stage.  Simply spray it white and allow to dry

Stage 2

Basecoat with Desert Yellow.  Due to the pgimentation of the paint i had to apply three thin coats.  The bones was painted with Beastial Brown.

Stage3

Now shade with a Scorched Brown wash (10 parts water 1 part paint)  Allow to dry fully before going on to the next stage.

Stage 4

Before doing this stage clean your water!  its always good practice to use clean water.

To highlight the bases i drybrushed with Desert Yellow followed with Bleached Bone.  Extreme highlight the cracked earth with Bleached bone.

The bones was then painted with Vomit Brown, Bleached Bone then Skull White.  To add more depth to the bones i shaded recesses with Devlan mud.

The snake.

Snakes are quite good at blending into its surroundings.  For this reason I have choosen to paint it with the following colours.

Basecoat with Khemri Brown

Paint diamond shapes all the way down the length of the snake with a mix of Khemri Brown and a little Chaos Black making sure you leave the inside of the diamonds Khemri Brown.

Now outline these diamonds with bleached bone using a very fine brush and a steady hand.

Rim.  The rim of the bases was painted with Khemri Brown.

Varnish with Purity seal.

I hope this helps you get your bases to a decent tabletop standard in no time!

Happy painting!

Klaus
